Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy

In the early stages of periodontal diseases, or as a first stage in treating more advanced disease, it is important to remove the bacteria and tartar that accumulates below the gum line. This allows the gingiva, or gum tissue, to heal and shrink. Sometimes this is accompanied by the administration of a local antibiotic into the space between the gum and the tooth.

Surgical Periodontal Therapy

We can address more advanced situations where there is bone loss and frequently save teeth by creating an environment that you can clean with a toothbrush and dental floss. We correct the infection with little irritation and minimally invasive way possible.

Cosmetic Periodontal Plastic Surgery

Many times the gum covers more of the tooth than it should and this can be esthetically displeasing. Other situations include improper position of the gum tissue in many ways that can frequently be corrected.

Crown-lengthening Surgery

When a tooth breaks below the gum line, or there is decay that extends below the gum line, your dentist is not able to restore the tooth without us doing this procedure to expose more tooth structure.

Gingival Grafting

There are situations where the gum has receded and the protective pink gum is lost. We can add more gum tissue to make these areas healthy and last longer.

Root Coverage Procedures

We can correct situations where there is recession of the gum where it is esthetically undesirable or there is sensitivity of the tooth by replacing gum tissue with either your own tissue or with Alloderm or Dermis, which is provided by a certified tissue bank.

Dental Implants

We can replace missing teeth with dental implants in most circumstances. We work closely with your dentist to determine the optimum course of treatment.

Our dental implants feel like real teeth! You’ll even forget you had them.

Ridge Augmentation to Reconstruct Lost Bone After Tooth Extraction

After a tooth is extracted, the bone around it starts to recede, both vertically and horizontally. When a significant amount of time has passed, it becomes necessary to rebuild the bone in order to either provide implants to restore this area or to improve aesthetics when a fixed bridge is desired.

Socket Preservation

We do this in order to prevent the previous item from occurring. Since bone recedes after tooth extraction, we usually recommend placing a bone graft either at the time of extraction or shortly after in order to preserve the bone for later implant placement.

Snoring and Sleep Apnea Treatment with Oral Appliances

Oral appliances are an effective and comfortable solution and is recommended by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine as a first line treatment for mild and moderate sleep apnea as well as a second line treatment for severe sleep apnea for people who can’t tolerate CPAP.

Careful analysis of your muscles of mastication performed and your bite is analyzed to assess what habits are causing you trouble. Occlusal Adjustment

We can adjust the way your teeth come together when the relationship of your upper and lower teeth is damaging and traumatic. Sometimes loose teeth are that way due to traumatic forces that can be corrected. Some TMJ disorders can also be addressed by adjusting the bite.

Genetic Susceptibility Testing in Periodontal Therapy

For several centuries the dental profession has evolved in the recognition and treatment of periodontal disease. Patients arrive at the dental office, receive a diagnosis of existing periodontal pathology and, hopefully, complete a course of treatment to restore as nearly as possible the original state of health. This has become know as the treatment-based approach to controlling disease.
